Bridgeport, NJ – With Hand No.2 of the 2017 Poker Series coming up this Sunday, June 4 at Spirit Auto Center Speedway, the track has announced a purse increase for both their micro sprint divisions. After a successful opening Poker Series event last month at the facility, management has decided to add $$$ to the overall purse. “We had 49 600s and 33 270s last race, and we’re extremely happy with those numbers,” offered general manager Danny Serrano. “I think we pay pretty darn good especially in the top 5 positions. However, it was 6-10th that was lacking after we looked at the breakdown. The racing has been tremendous and these guys need to be rewarded for their efforts, especially when the counts are what they are,” Serrano explained.

As customary in micro racing, there are different structured purses based on car counts. “We pay $1,000 for our Poker races for the 600s with the only stipulation being that we have a full-field of 24 cars. You don’t have to do a gambler’s option or anything for that $1,000. The last race we had the winner earned that, while 10th paid $50….10th will now pay out $100 as long as we have 40 or more cars. The 270 purse has been adjusted as well,” Serrano pointed out. Positions 6th on back have been increased in both divisions based on 600s having 40 or more and the 270s having 30 or more. The five-race series has also had a respectful pointfund payout since the 1/4 mile received their own Poker Series back in 2014.
