Bridgeport, NJ – The second annual ‘Skyscraper’ event will take place once again at the Spirit Speedway in just two short months. Two years ago, this colossal event was just thoughts written down on paper until they came to fruition last season. Delaware’s Matt Smith and New Jersey’s Jacob Hendershot were able to lay claim to a whopping $4,000 each as they wrote their name in the history books at Spirit’s ¼ mile.
Friday, October 5 through Sunday October 7 is the weekend that every Micro Sprint driver has had circled on their his/her calendar since mid-January. “Last year’s Skyscraper was honestly such an awesome event. It was more than just a race. It was a weekend full of stories, wheel to wheel racing, fun, excitement, prizes, partying, camping, contingencies, and money….yea lots of money,” general manager Danny Serrano reflected.
Last year’s unique format will be used once again over the course of three-day affair. “Last year’s show was definitely something different for the racers. The traditional formats and purses were something that we wanted to stand out from the rest. I’m pretty sure we did that in ’17. We’re looking at some extra opportunities this year, as several businesses have already asked to be a part of Skyscraper 2 that weren’t involved last October. The best of the best in Micro Sprint racing will be on hand and I know so many ‘dark horses’ are chomping at the bit for their moment to make history,” Serrano added.
The 2018 Skyscraper registration form (rules, times, prices, ect.) can be found online at www.spiritspeedway.com. If any competitors need information in regards to NJSP age and/or safety requirements please call Danny Serrano at 609-433-4487. Look for updates, prize monies, entries, and a lot more on Spirit’s Facebook page, website, and other social media outlets.
