The 270 and 600 drivers that compete at the Spirit Speedway in Bridgeport, NJ in 2017 will vying to write their names in the record books at one of the biggest races on the East Coast in micro sprint history! The all-new colossal event that will be held on the 1/4 mile will be known as ‘The Skyscraper’. “It’s no secret that that the micro sprints won me over several years ago, and I just felt it was about time to give these guys a race that they can make some serious money,” offered General Manager Danny Serrano.

On Sunday, October 8 the Wingless 600s will be racing for $4,000 to win while seeing $400 to start. The Winged 270s will also battle for a $4,000 paycheck while receiving $400 for last place. “I wanted to see a race that paid really well, but also paid good all they way back,” explained Serrano. Each position will see an increase in payout as well; from last to first. The micro sprint program at Spirit Speedway has been on the rise over the past four seasons, especially with the track’s ‘special’ shows. The Poker Series as well as the Bill Tomas Memorial Weekend have found success and are starting to get great recognition from the Tri-state area.

The Skyscraper’ will provide action on the race track on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Oct 6-8. “There are so many variables that go into having a huge event like this, and with the way our track’s been the past few years and the fantastic racing that the micros put on, I for one can’t wait for October to come quick enough. We are going to have a unique and intriguing qualifying format that I think the racers will think is fair for everyone,” Serrano explained.

“I’ve talked to a bunch of drivers and to say that they’re excited, would be a severe understatement. I’ve also talked to several individuals that are interested in sponsorship of all kinds that will only benefit the drivers to the max for this milestone event. Product sponsors, heat race money, contingency prizes for non-qualifiers, gambler’s options, and more. Like I said, details about this show will be coming out non-stop from now until the race itself.”
