Bridgeport, NJ – The Spirit Auto Center Speedway at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park honored one of their own with the Amy Barber Memorial Race on Friday night. Amy Barber fulfilled many roles at the track before her untimely passing. Whether it was driving the ambulance or selling tickets or working in the tower, Amy Barber worked wherever she was needed. Her family and friends, the racers and the speedway, honor Amy’s memory with this race that rewards the competitors with special enhancements in the purse as well as special bonuses in all divisions.

PJ Williams raced to his first win of the season in the Hyper Racing 600s thirty lap feature event. Tyler Grau earned his second win of the season in the AC Racing Products Winged 270s. Jon Laureigh raced to his eighth win in the Speedway Entertainment Slingshots and moved back into the point lead. Hannah Kormann raced to her fourth win of the season in the Junior Slingshots, adding some additional points to her lead in that division.

Polesitter, Sam Lamothe led the first four laps of the 600 feature event before Williams took over on lap five. Williams led through lap thirteen as he battled with 2024 Champion, Anthony Tramontana for the lead. Tramontana took over on lap fourteen. Matt Smith went to the outside and raced his way into third, making it a three car battle for the lead. In one of the most closely contested races of the season, Williams retook the lead with three laps to go and went on to take the win. Smith and Tramontana raced to the stripe side-by-side with Smith having the advantage to take second. Sam Lamothe finished fourth with AJ Chvostal earning his best Spirit finish in fifth.

Geordan Marerro finished sixth followed by current point leader, Quinn Llewellyn, Lukas Kostic, Ty Short and Matt Peck completed the top ten at the checkered.

Williams has struggled throughout the season – so much so that he called it quits after his last race. The decision was then made to swap engines and an engine that had just been “sitting on the floor of the shop” was installed. That engine took the Rogers Williams Dyson team to Insta Signs Plus Victory Lane on Friday night.

Anthony Tramontana was the winner of the four lap Cash Dash for the 600s, picking up a $300 win courtesy of DA’s Auto Body & Repair. Geordan Marerro picked up $150 for second and Luke Thomas $100 for third.

Tyler Grau led every lap of the twenty lap winged 270 feature event for his second win of the season. Grau raced ahead of Nick Walton for the length of the race. Walton had to deal with pressure from point leader, Alex Swift for the second half of the race while Grau sliced through traffic. Dylan Devault finished fourth with Shea Wills rounding out the top five at the checkered.

Matthew Lashley led the first lap of the All Star Slingshot feature event before Jon Laureigh took the lead on the second lp after starting fifth in the line-up. Laureigh led the remaining laps to the checkered with Charlie Moore finishing second followed by Chris Laureigh who started at the back of the field. Gage Marerro finished fourth with Ken Matthews rounding out the top five.

Hannah Kormann’s fourth Junior Slingshot victory had the current point leader taking the lead at the wave of green and leading all the way to the checkered. Waylon Wolf made his way into second but was not able to close in on the leader to make a challenge. David Morrison finished third followed by Carl Taylor and Kenna Evans.
