Spirit Speedway Implements Sunday (July 29) Rain Date This Weekend

Bridgeport, NJ – Spirit Speedway has decided to use this Sunday as a rain date should Friday evening’s racing program fall to inclement weather. ‘We received rain the past two days and more is predicted for Friday evening,” explained general manager Danny Serrano. ‘Our goal is to race as planned on Friday absolutely. However, if that’s not possible we’d really hate to lose another race to Mother Nature the way this year has went. Reaching out to every single team is hard enough, but I did personally reach out to the top 10 drivers in the point standings in both 600 and 270 classes and an overwhelming 95% were in favor to race on Sunday,” Serrano added.

Friday’s schedule includes the Ace Overhead Door 600 & 270 Micro Sprints joined by the 250 stock Micros, Slingshots, ReMax Novice 600s, and Mini-Late Models. Gates open at 5:30 with Racing beginning at 8pm. Should Sunday’s rain date be used the 250 stock Micro Sprints will no be in competition. Their ‘special’ event will be held the following Friday, on August 3. Sunday times would look like this for the remaining divisions: Gates open at 4:30 pm with hot laps at 6:15 and the first green flag waving at 7pm.
