Week two of the Spirit Auto Center Speedway and four more drivers added their names to the Spirit Auto Center Speedway win list!

After a rough start to the season, three drivers rebounded to win their first features of the 2-16.  Chris Locuson won in the wingless 600cc Micro Sprints; Tyler Reinhardt picked up the win in the 270cc Micro Sprints and Joe King, Jr. was the winner in the ServPro Four Cylinder Enduros. 2014 Eight Cylinder Champion, Lee Allen won the feature in the full-fender division.

Locuson led the majority of last week’s 600cc Micro Sprint feature before being involved in an incident, flipping and being eliminated from contention.  This week, Locuson kept all four wheels on the ground as he led the 600cc Micro Sprint feature from start to finish.  Behind Locuson, Rich Mellor, Bobby Butler and Jon Keller each took a turn running second.  Travis Hill then moved into second as the race neared the halfway point with Luke Thomas, last week’s winner moving to third.  Hill and Thomas dueled for second with Hill taking the spot at the checkered.  Thomas was third followed by Keller and Jermain Godshall finishing fourth and fifth.

Reinhardt’s troubles continued early in the night as the carburetor fell off his car while leading his heat race.  Brandon Pavel took the lead at the start of the featurelocuson_3 while being chased by Alex Swift.  Pavel and Swift led the field as Kyle Spence, Rich Keller and Andrew Locuson battled for third.  Reinhardt, who started seventeenth in the feature, found the outside groove to his liking.  Reinhardt lined-up sixth on the race’s final restart on lap eleven.  By the completion of lap 12, Reinhardt moved into second.  Reinhardt then challenged Pavel for the lead.  The pair ran side-by-side for the final four laps before Reinhardt finally took the led coming out of the fourth turn on the final lap.  Pavel, Swift, Keller and Spence completed the top five.

King followed the theme of the night.  After suffering fuel line pick-up problems last week and not being able to run the feature, King won his heat race and led the feature from green to checkered to capture his first win of 2016.  Chris Sammons, Keith McKinley, Art Knapp and Joe Garey completed the top five for the ServPro Four Cylinder Enduro division.

Lee Allen grabbed the lead on the first lap after wrestling it away from Tom Wolf and led the entire distance to capture the win.  Lee’s nephew, Chris Allen, Jr. finish second with Wolf third.  Steve Taciak and Vinny Troia rounded out the top five.
