Bridgeport, NJ – Former track champion, Matt Smith picked up his first win of the season on the 1/4 Mile at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in the Hyper Racing Wingless 600cc Micro Sprints. Smith has led several events previously only for something to happen before the checkered flag.
Alex Swift won his seventh A.C. Racing Products winged 270cc Micro Sprint A-Main. Jonathan Laureigh won the Speedway Entertainment All Star Slingshot A-Main and then scored his first win in the Smith Fabrication Stage-1 Modified A-Main. Khloe Dennis picked up her third win in the Speedway Entertainment Junior Slingshots.
Gavin Marrero and Smith led the 600 field to the green flag with Smith taking command by the end of the first lap. Marrero held solid in second with Wayne Scott, Chris Turner and Hailee Nardelli comprising the top five.
On lap 14, Marrero suddenly slowed and pulled to the infield while running in the top five.
Smith continued to lead as P.J. Williams worked through the field to take second with 7 laps to go. Williams would close the gap over the final laps but Smith scored the win.
Williams was second followed by Scott, Turner and Dan Leaper completing the top five.
Korey Inglin finished sixth with Nardelli, Robert Pierce, Sam LaMothe and Chris Fenimore completing the top ten.
Dylan DeVault and Ian John led the 270 field at the start. DeVault would hold the lead for the first five laps of the event. On a restart on lap 5, Swift moved from running fourth to the lead by the completion of lap six Swift pulled away from the field in the 14 remaining laps. Tyler Gent recorded his best finish to finish second. Andrew Locuson, DeVault and Josh Anderson completed the top five.
In the All Star Slingshot event, Charlie Moore jumped out to the early lead over Hannah
Kormann and Jonathan Laureigh. The race was slowed for a spin on lap 7. On the restart Laureigh passed Kormann and Moore for the lead. Laureigh went on to record the win. Kormann passed Moore for second coming out of turn 4 on the last lap with Carl Taylor recording another strong finish in fourth and Joey Torchia finished fifth.
Dennis took the led at halfway and never looked back in the Junior Slingshot A-Main. Kenna Evans was second follow by her sister, Kylin Evans, Danica Weinberger and Jack Brey completed the top five. Pierce Weinberger, Danny Kurtz, David Morrison, Keegan Scott and Danica Degutis finished sixth through tenth.
Laureigh led all 25 laps as the Stage-1 Modified feature went non-stop. Jon Keller, Rchie Keller, Carter Mullins and Nathan Reed completed the top five.
