Bridgeport, NJ – With the wingless 600cc Micro Sprints taking part in Race #5 of the Hyper Racing 600cc Speed Week, the A.C. Racing Products Winged 270cc Micro Sprints took center stage with Billy Gray dominating the A-Main for his first win of the season.
Charlie Moore won his fourth Speedway Entertainment All Star Slingshot event while Kenna Evans picked up her second win in the Junior Slingshot A-Main.
Joe Garey, Sr. picked up his second win in the Four Cylinders while Paul Hartwig, III, picked up the win in the nightcap for the Smith Fabrication Stage-1 Modifieds.
Dylan Pence and Dylan DeVault led the 270’s to the green flag. Billy Gray, who started third took the lead on the first lap. Pence followed in second with DeVault, Alex Swift and Brett Estep, third through fifth. Gray pulled away from Pence as Swift passed DeVault for third.
The race’s only caution came at the halfway point which regrouped the field. On the restart, Gray continued to lead with Pence second. DeVault passed Swift for third and Estep continued in fifth. Over the remaining laps, Gray pulled away from Pence with Swift passing DeVault for third and Trevor Waegel making his first start of the season, finishing fifth. Estep, Joe Dopke, Ian John, George Nardelli and Luke Fogg completed the top ten at the checkered.
In All Star Slingshot action, Mason Lineman and Moore led the All Stars to the green flag. Lineman led the opening lap before the yellow flag flew. Current point leader, Hannah Kormann, slowed in turn one with a flat tire ending her night. On the restart, Moore grabbed the lead from Lineman with the top two leading the way to the checkered. Nick Tomlinson finished third with Matthew Lashley and Carl Taylor finishing fourth and fifth. Joey Torchia, Emily Suhr, Mike Walsh, Jason Kohler and Noah Hoskins completed the top ten.
In the Junior Slingshots, Kylin and Kenna Evans started disde,by-side to leD the field to the green. Kenna grabbed the lead over Kylin with Khloe Dennis moving from sixth to third on the first lap. Dennis passed Kylin for second then passed Kenna for the lead at the halfway mark. Dennis only led for one lap before Kenna retook the lead. Kylin grabbed second in the closing laps with Dennis third. David Morrison finished fourth and Danny Kurtz finished fifth. Jack Brey, Lucas Sammans, Anthony Dinatale, Danica Weinberger and Kasey Peck completed the top ten at the finish.
Joe Garey, Sr. passed Joe Garey, Jr. for the lead on lap 7 and went on to win the 25-lap non-stop Four Cylinder feature event. Garey, Jr. finished second followed by Bri Stein, Kelly Flemming and Peggy Dunn to complete the top five.
Paulie Hartwig, III led all 25-laps in the non-stop Stage One Modified feature event with Carter Mullins, Jon Keller, Ken Matthews and Joey Torchia completing the top five.
