Bridgeport, NJ – Even a rain shower could not stop the Friday Night action of night #1 of the Danny Serrano Skyscraper weekend. In preparation of Saturday’s big event, all divisions competed in a regular program on Friday night.
Tommy Kunsman picked the win in the Hyper Racing 600s – his fifth Bridgeport win this season. While Kunsman does not compete on the Bridgeport quarter mile every Friday night, he has managed to maintain a high winning percentage and continues as one of the top winners in this division.
In Friday night’s prelude to the Skyscraper, Kunsman raced to the win over JT Bierman who earned his first victory on the quarter mile earlier this season. Dominic Schmidt, a new face on the Bridgeport quarter mile, finished third ahead of 2026 feature winners Kyle Spence and PJ Williams. Steve Fleetwood finished sixth followed by Sean Metz, David Burns, Mason Peters and Brett Mihalski who returned to 600 action this season.
The AC Racing Products 270 winged Micro Sprints brought no surprises as multi-time champion, Alex Swift cruised to victory in the John and Amanda Blanda No. 15. Swift led Josh Anderson and Brett Estep to the checkered flag. Jimmy Wyers raced to a fourth place finish over Billy Gray. Glenn Frye finished sixth followed by Jonathan John, Hunter Nardelli, Jazzy Chance and Grayson Reuver to round out the top ten.
The Skyscraper weekend brought some new faces to the track and Insta Signs Plus Victory Lane.
Paulie Hartwig picked up the win in the Speedway Entertainment All Star Slingshots presented by the FRAGILE X FOUNDATION.
Hartwig has made several appearances on the Bridgeport quarter mile this season as he captured his first win. Mason Pittenger finished second in his Skyscraper weekend appearance. Amanda Angstadt overcame a bad pill draw to finish third followed by Robert Geiber and Jason Kohler. Emily Suhr finished sixth followed by Logan Walton, Darien Danyluk, Mike Cambell and Ben Marculies.
Khloe Dennis continued her winning ways in the Junior Slingshots. Dennis took the win over Austin Whitby and Keegan Scott. Luke Whitby finished fourth followed by Angel Whitby. Danica Banks finished sixth followed by James Labar, Jack Brey, Pierce Weinberger and Danica Degutis in tenth.
Brett Smith took the win in the Smith Fabrications – Carter Mullins Racing Stage 1 Modifieds. Payton Cassel was Smith’s closest completion as they raced to the checkered. Christopher Laureigh finished in third followed by his brother, Jonathan Laureigh and Christopher Buffalino.
