IMG_9721Bridgeport, NJ – JT Bierman became the eighth different winner in Hyper Racing EVO Injection 600 Micro Sprint action at the Spirit Auto Center Speedway on Friday night, sponsored by Cassidy Painting.  The win marked Bierman’s first in micro sprint competition.

Alex Swift raced from mid-pack to win his fourth AC Racing Products 270 Micro Sprint feature of the 2023 season.   Michael Beckett raced to win number three in the Speedway Entertainment All Star Slingshot competition while David Morrison earned his first Junior Slingshot win in his Rookie season.

JT Bierman debuted a brand new Hyper Racing 600 on Friday night and promptly put it in Victory Lane in its maiden voyage.

Bierman started from the pole but after two weeks off, the field was slowed on many occasions for the yellow flag.  Bierman had many restarts as the leader and the cautions kept the field tight, not allowing Bierman to get too far ahead of the field.   By lap five, Bierman had Zack Bealer challenging for the lead but Bierman was able to power away from this challenger on several occasions.

The racing action was hot and heavy for third throughout the twenty-five lap event.  Julian Rexrode raced in second until Bealer raced through the top five to second in the Gary and Donna Spotts No. 2s.  Wayne Scott raced through the field after qualifying through the B Main to take over third at halfway.  Connor Gross raced into the top five with about ten laps to go after restarting in the rear following an early race mishap.

Bierman led every lap to earn his first win followed by Bealer, Scott, Gross and Mattie Boyd who broke into the top five late in the race.  Rexrode crossed the finish line in sixth for his best effort to date followed by Chris Fenimore, Olivia Haworth, Anthony Tramontana and Robert Pierce.

Jon West was the early race leader in the 270 Micro Sprint feature.  By lap five, Nick Walton had raced his way into second with Billy Gray, Swift and Dylan Pence chasing the race leaders.

Frequent cautions kept the field tight.  Gray went to the outside of West to take the lead following a lap seven restart.  Gray led for three laps.  Swift took over second on lap eight and started to pressure Gray on the next time around the quarter mile.  The field took the halfway sign led by Swift, Gray, Walton, West and Adrew Locuson.

There was a lot of close racing in the final laps as Jimmy Wagner, Locuson and West went three wide to determine fourth with about five laps to go.

Swift to the John and Amanda Blanda No. 15 to Champion Brands LLC Victory Lane with Gray finishing second and keeping the leader in range all the way to the checkered.  Locuson finished third followed by Tyler Grau and Jimmy Wagner.  Tommy Rinck finished sixth followed by Walton, John Wagner, Jr., Jonathan John and Halley Nardelli.

Brandon Oakley took the lead at the start of the All Star Slingshot feature as Michael Beckett and Brayden Morrison battled for second behind the leader.  Morrision took the lead as the field exited turn two on the second lap and went on to lead Beckett, PJ Bozowski, Oakley and Nick Bilello through lap five.

Beckett took the lead on lap seven after a battle for second with Bozowski.  Morrison, Alonzo Morales and Bilello completed the top five through lap ten.

Beckett went on to capture the checkered flag with Morrison taking second over Oakley, Bozowski and Morales.

David Morrison raced to his first win in the Junior Slingshots after taking the lead just before five to go.  Morrison also led laps six and seven but Carter Mullins took the lead on lap eight and led until the two to go sign.  Morrison reclaimed the top spot on lap fourteen and then raced to the win over Mullins, Austin Walls, Cody Williamson and Nate Kempe.

Four division action returns to the Spirit quarter mile this Friday night.
