Bridgeport, NJ – Steven Bracall raced to his first win of the 2022 season and became the tenth different winner in Hyper Racing/EVO Injection 600 Micro Sprints at the Spirit Auto Center Speedway in regular Friday night action.

Defending and currently winged 270 Micro Sprint champion, Alex Swift put the John Blanda owned No. 15 out in front on the start and raced to his fourth Spirit win of the season.  Michael Beckett added a few points to his lead in the 2022 All Star Slingshot Championship with his win over Amanda Angstadt.  Braydon Morrison battled with Christian Buffalino to win his eighth win of the season in the Junior Slingshots.

Bracall’s night did not start the way he had hoped as he found himself starting scratch on the field in the starting line-up of the twenty-five lap Hyper Racing/EVO Injection 600 feature.  Polesitter, Anthony Tramontana led the field to the green and then led the first seven laps of the feature with Bracall’s Cobbs Mill Performance & Fabrication teammate, Gary Bozowski racing in second.

Bozowski challenged Tramontana for the lead following a lap seven restart and took the lead on lap eight.  With ten complete, Bracall had raced his way into third and was battling with Tramontana for second.

Bozowski led the way at halfway over Bracall, Tramontana, Rich Deck and Sam Lamothe.

With just four laps to go, Bozowski left the door open on a single file restart and Bracall drove through to take the lead.  Bracall led the final laps for the win followed by Bozowski, Tramontana, Deck and Chris Fenimore.  Stephen Fleetwood finished sixth followed by Jon Brennfleck in the Widdoss entry, Rebecca Lamothe, Sonny Tete and Sam Lamother.

Tommy Kunsman remains the only repeat winner in Spirit 600 competition this season.

Swift had pressure early in the 270 feature event from Billy Gray but after the first few laps, Swift was able to pull away from his challenger by a few car lengths.  As the race progressed, so did Swift’s lead as he drove away from Gray, Tommy Rinck, Tyler Grau and Nick Walton.

A restart with just two laps to go, brought the field together for a single file restart but Swift raced ahead to his fourth win of the season followed by Gray, Rinck, Grau and Walton.

Michael Becket led every lap of the All Star Slingshot feature event with Amanda Angstadt and PJ Bozowski trailing the leader.  Angstadt got close enough to pressure the leader but Beckett persevered for the win over Angstadt, Bozowski, Ryan Davey, Ryan Harris and Dave Morrell.  The win was Beckett’s fourth of the season.

Braydon Morrison raced to the win over Christian Buffalino in the Junior Slingshot after the top two contenders tangled earlier in the race.  Cody Morrison led the race following the incident but Morrison and Buffalino were able to race back to first and second with Morrison taking third.

Action returns to the Spirit quarter mile on Friday evening with the 600 and 270 Micro Sprints and the All Star and Junior Slingshots.
