Bridgeport, NJ –  JT Ferry came to the Spirit Auto Center Speedway for the first time and then raced to the win in the Hyper Racing 600/EVO Injection twenty-five lap feature event on EZ Finance Truck night at the quarter mile.
Nick Walton raced the Tyers No. 16T to their second win of the season in the Winged 270 Micro Sprint feature event. It was win No. 5 for Amanda Angstadt in the All Star Slingshot main event while Braydon Morrison raced to his seventh win of the season in the Junior Slingshots.

Just one week after Tommy Kunsman became the first repeat winner in Spirit 600 competition, JT Ferry came to Spirit and became the ninth different winner this season. The fourteen year old hotshoe from Drums, PA started from the pole but had Kyle Spence and Steven Snyder hot on his trail from the start. After several attempts to score lap one, the racing became intense as Spence raced into second on lap five with Snyder, Robert Pierce and Chris Fenimore making up the top five.

The twenty-five lap feature event was riddled with caution and the frequent restarts kept the field tight. Ferry led every lap and concentrated on running his race and hitting his marks and ignoring what might be going on behind him. “I tried to minimize my mistakes,” the young driver explained. Trailing Ferry and the BCI No. 18 to the checkered were Kyle Spence who fought off the early challenges of Snyder to finish second. Snyder finsihed third as currentl point leader, Matt Smith brough a challenge late in the race to finish fourth with Pierce rounding out the top five.

Geordan Marrero finished sixth as he raced in the tracks of Pierce. Anthony Tramontana finished seventh followed by Rich Deck, Ryan Boyd and PJ Williams.

Nine different winners and there are still a number of drivers still seeking their first win of the season!

The Winged 270s have seen seven different winners with point leader, Alex Swift being the only repeat winner until Nick Walton grabbed the checkered on Friday night.

Walton led every lap for his second win of the season with last week’s first time winner, Billy Gray finishing a strong second. Alex Swift wheeled to a third place finish over Nick Skias and Joe Dopke who rounded out the top five.

Tyler Grau, who had a great outing one week earlier that came to an end early when mechanical woes set in, finished sixth followed by Tommy Rinck, Jimmy Wagner, Dom Pomponi and George Nardelli.

Amanda Angstadt grabbed the lead from current point leader, Michael Beckett on the first lap and never looked back as she drove to her fifth Spirit win of the season in the All Star Slingshots. Ryan Harris backed up his first win of the season last week with a strong second place run. Beckett finished third over Ryan Davey and PJ Bozowski.

Braydon Morrison returned to winning ways after Christopher Buffalino picked up back-to-back wins in the Junior Slingshots. Braydon led the way to the checkered over Buffalino and Cody Williamson.

Spirit Auto Center Speedway will be idle next weekend as will the Bridgeport Motorsports Park. Action will return to Spirit on Tuesday, July 19th for the Hyper Racing/EVO Injection 600 Speedweek.
