Swedesboro, NJ – As the COVID 19 pandemic continues, Spirit Auto Center Speedway is ready to go GREEN. The renovations have been completed and some finishing touches are being put on the new ¼ mile speedway. “I was super happy with what the guys did with the new ¼ mile Speedway”, stated Rose. The new banking is 17 degrees, the back stretch was pulled in 30’ making the radius of the corners shorter. “We feel with the banking and the radius of the corners, this will give the racers the same racing experience as Action Track USA” says Rose. “Danny had done a helluva job with the small cars here at Spirit and we plan to keep Danny’s “spirit” alive at the speedway forever. The 600’s and the 270’s are what built the speedway to level it is now and it is my goal to continue that growth for Danny. He loved these guys very much and I just wish he could be here to watch these drivers wheel around the new track”.

The Slingshots will compete on some Friday and Sunday nights but will find themselves racing on many Saturday shows as a Matinee to the big track event. “There were 2 thoughts behind this change. First, it will help us all get out of the speedway earlier on a Friday night. That night already starts late and this will help teams get home at an even more reasonable hour. Secondly, many Slingshot teams have an affiliation with big car teams. This way the Slingshot teams can come run before the big track gets rolling, run their feature in front of a big car crowd, and their wristband is good all day and night long. They can stay and watch the big car event or help their fathers, friends, etc in the pits.

When the governor allows businesses to reopen and if there are no occupancy restrictions, we will open the following weekend with wherever we are at in the Spirit Auto Speedway schedule (not the immediate weekend but the flowing). If the green light for businesses to reopen has an occupancy restriction, depending on the number, we will open with a practice THAT Saturday on the big track for all divisions of big cars and THAT Sunday on the 1/4 mile track for all divisions of small cars.

We encourage race teams to be ready and prepared to hit the track, the Green Flag will soon be waving.

We are all anxious to get the green flag at Spirit Auto Center Speedway and we encourage all racers and race fans to come check out the new facility. It is insane!
