Bridgeport, NJ – For the second week in a row, Alex Swift put John Blanda’s No. 15 into Victory Lane for the 270 Micro Sprints but it was Nick Walton who dominated the field for the first fifteen of twenty laps . Walton took the lead and raced a number of car lengths ahead of any competition. At the halfway mark, Walton led the way over Swift, Lee Nardelli in the Huesser No. 20, Nick Skias and John Wagner.
On lap sixteen, Nardelli slowed and pulled off the track drawing the caution. Walton came to a stop on the backstretch, relinquishing his lead to Swift.
Swift had no trouble leading the way for the final five laps over Skias, Wagner, Tommy Rinck and Shea Wills. Tyler Grau finished sixth followed by Johnny Trendler, Jimmy Wagner, RJ Witcraft and Trevor Waegle, roll t top ten finishes.
After coming so very close last season on several occasions, Michael Beckett found his way to the Spirit Auto Center Winner’s Circle with his victory in the All Star Slingshots.
John Philip led the first lap before Amanda Angstadt took control. Beckett moved into second on lap three and pressured Angstadt for the win. The young driver exhibited a lot of speed and closed in to pressure the leader. Beckett moved to the inside of Angstadt on lap nine and took the lead just one lap later.
Beckett took his first checkered flag over Angstadt, defending champion, Ryan Davey, Tomas Mowery, who did an outstanding job in the top five throughout the race, and Ryan Harris in fifth. PJ Bosowski finished sixth over Tim Franks, Dave Morrell, Scott Philip and Zach Merola.
Action returns to the Spirit Auto Center this Friday night with another triple header show with the 600 and 270 Micro Sprint and Slingshots.
