Bridgeport, NJ – Ryan Boyd added his name to a growing list of feature winners in the Hyper 600 -EVO Injection 600 Micro Sprints when he captured his first ever win in Friday night action at Spirit Auto Center Speedway. Boyd became the sixth different winner in Spirit 600 Micro Sprint action while Lee Nardelli achieved the same feat in the 270 Micro Sprints by winning his first race of the season. Brandon Oakley became a first time winner in the Speedway Entertainment All Star Slingshots while Jack Jarvis bumped his win total up to four with his Friday night win on Cassidy Painting night at the quarter mile.

Ryan Boyd drew the pole for the start of the twenty-five lap Hyper Racing – EVO Injection 600 Micro Sprint feature and then held off the challenges of some of the best 600 racers in the area to win his first main event on the Bridgeport Motorsports Park quarter mile. Boyd was challenged by Anthony Tramontana, Zack Bealer and Connor Gross throughout the race but he never wavered.

Tramontana had his best outing to date, racing to the outside of Boyd to challenge for the lead on several occasions. He could run side-by-side with Boyd but lack the momentum to clear the leader. Bealer and Gross made it a three car challenge for the lead but again, Boyd was up to the challenge.

Boyd is just half of the Quarter Midgets USA team. His sister, Maddie also competes. Imagine leading the feature with several heavy hitters behind you when the caution waves. As you circle the track, you find out that your sister was the reason for the caution! That’s exactly what happened on lap nineteen and resulted in the final double file restart of the race. Boyd was up to the challenge as he continued to hit his marks all the way to the checkered.

Boyd captured the win over Tramontana who put on quite a display, using the outside line of the track. PJ Williams made a late race charge to finish third followed by Bealer and Lavar Scott who took the top five spot away from Gross in the final laps. Gross finished sixth followed by Chris Fenimore, Bubba Hughes, Gary Bozowski and Prestyn Brown.

Billy Gray led the first eleven laps of the 270 Micro Sprint feature. Pat Bealer raced in second until Lee Nardelli raced through the top five just before halfway. Nardelli took over second on lap seven but it wasn’t until a lap twelve restart that Nardelli raced to the outside to take the lead away from Gray. “I’ve done a terrible job of drawing for position,” Nardelli stated. When he drew ninth, he wondered if he could win from there.

Nardelli held the most wins in 600 competition until earlier this year when Luke Thomas surpassed Nardelli on that list. The Friday night win was Nardelli’s fourth in a 270 as he picked up the win in the Huesser No. 20, becoming the sixth different winner in seventh races in this division.

Billy Gray finished second with Bealer taking third. John Wagner finished fourth with Nick Skias in fifth. Marshall Labuda finished sixth in his first Spirit appearance followed by Tyler Reinhardt, Jimmy Wagner, Jonathan John and Trevor Waegel.

Current 270 point leader, Alex Swift was an early exit in the feature event after damage to the Blanda No. 15.

Brandon Oakley led every lap of the All Star Slingshot feature to win his career first on the Spirit quarter mile. PJ Bozowski finished second, chasing Oakley to the checkered flag. Alonzo Morales finished third followed by Nick Bilello and Brayden Morrison.

Oakley’s team mate, Jack Jarvis raced to his fourth win of the season in the Junior Slingshot Feature. Jarvis raced to the checkered ahead of Carter Mullins and Christopher Buffalino. David Morrison and Austin Walls completed the top five in the rundown.

See all four divisions in action again next Friday night for another Fast & Furious Friday.
